Public Safety
Safe Communities. Strong Neighborhoods.
Every Nevadan deserves to feel safe at home, at work, at school, and in their neighborhood. Public safety is one of the most important responsibilities of government, and I believe we can build safer communities by supporting the professionals who protect us while strengthening the partnerships that keep crime from occurring in the first place.
As your Democratic candidate for Nevada Assembly District 40, I will work to ensure our law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, dispatchers, and other first responders have the training, equipment, and resources they need to serve our communities safely and effectively.
My public safety priorities include:
Support our first responders by ensuring they have the staffing, equipment, training, and mental health resources needed to protect our communities and return home safely to their families.
Reduce crime through prevention and accountability by supporting community policing, crime prevention programs, and effective prosecution of violent offenders while protecting the rights of victims.
Strengthen emergency preparedness by investing in disaster response, wildfire prevention, transportation safety, and emergency communications to better protect Nevada communities.
Combat drug trafficking and the fentanyl crisis by supporting coordinated efforts among law enforcement, public health professionals, schools, and community organizations to prevent addiction, reduce overdose deaths, and hold traffickers accountable.
Protect children and seniors by strengthening laws against abuse, exploitation, human trafficking, and financial crimes targeting our most vulnerable residents.
Build trust through community partnerships by encouraging collaboration between law enforcement, neighborhood organizations, schools, businesses, and local governments to create safer communities for everyone.
As a lifelong public servant and safety professional, I understand that public safety is about more than responding to emergencies—it's about preventing them whenever possible. Safe neighborhoods attract businesses, strengthen local economies, and give families the confidence to live, work, and raise their children in our communities.
Together, we can build a Nevada where every family feels safe, every first responder is supported, and every community can thrive.
Safe communities are built through strong partnerships, responsible leadership, and a commitment to protecting every Nevadan.
Economy
Building a Stronger Economy for Working Families
Nevada's economy is strongest when working families succeed. Every person who works hard should be able to earn a good living, support their family, and build a secure future. As your Democratic candidate for Nevada Assembly District 40, I will fight for an economy that creates opportunity for everyone—not just those at the top.
Our state needs policies that help workers, support small businesses, and encourage responsible economic growth while keeping the cost of living affordable.
My economic priorities include:
Create good-paying jobs by investing in infrastructure, transportation, clean energy, manufacturing, and other industries that provide long-term careers with family-supporting wages.
Support small businesses by reducing unnecessary regulations, streamlining licensing, and helping local entrepreneurs grow, hire more employees, and strengthen our communities.
Stand with working families by protecting workers' rights, supporting collective bargaining, promoting apprenticeship programs, and advocating for fair wages and safe workplaces.
Invest in Nevada's workforce by expanding career and technical education, workforce development, and partnerships with labor unions, community colleges, and local employers.
Keep more money in working families' pockets by addressing the rising costs of housing, healthcare, childcare, and everyday necessities.
Promote responsible economic development by encouraging businesses that create quality jobs, invest in our communities, and respect Nevada workers.
As a lifelong public servant, safety professional, and proud union member, I understand the challenges facing working families because I've lived them. I believe economic growth should benefit everyone—not just large corporations.
Together, we can build an economy that rewards hard work, supports local businesses, creates opportunities for the next generation, and ensures every Nevadan has the chance to succeed.
A stronger economy begins with strong workers, thriving small businesses, and communities where every family has the opportunity to prosper.
Quality, Affordable Healthcare for Every Nevadan
Healthcare is not a privilege—it is a necessity. Every Nevadan deserves access to quality, affordable healthcare regardless of where they live, their income, or their stage of life. No family should have to choose between paying for medical care and paying for groceries, rent, or other basic necessities.
As your Democratic candidate for Nevada Assembly District 40, I will work to strengthen our healthcare system by improving access, lowering costs, and supporting the healthcare professionals who care for our families every day.
My healthcare priorities include:
Lower healthcare costs by promoting policies that make prescription medications, health insurance, and essential medical services more affordable for working families and seniors.
Expand access to care by increasing the availability of primary care providers, mental health services, dental care, and specialty care throughout Nevada, especially in underserved communities.
Support rural healthcare by ensuring rural hospitals and clinics have the resources they need to provide quality care close to home.
Strengthen mental health services by expanding access to counseling, crisis intervention, addiction treatment, and suicide prevention programs for children, adults, veterans, and first responders.
Protect women's healthcare by supporting access to reproductive healthcare, prenatal care, maternal health services, and preventive care so women can make their own healthcare decisions.
Invest in the healthcare workforce by supporting education, training, and recruitment programs for nurses, physicians, emergency medical personnel, and other healthcare professionals to address workforce shortages.
Promote preventive care by encouraging early screenings, vaccinations, wellness programs, and healthy lifestyles that improve long-term health outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.
Quality healthcare strengthens families, supports a productive workforce, and helps our communities thrive. As a lifelong public servant, I understand that investing in healthcare is an investment in Nevada's future.
Together, we can build a healthcare system that is affordable, accessible, and focused on the well-being of every Nevadan.
Healthy families build strong communities. Together, we can ensure every Nevadan has access to the care they need, when they need it.
Affordable Housing
Housing That Works for Nevada Families
Housing is more than a roof over our heads—it's the foundation of strong families, thriving neighborhoods, and a healthy economy. Yet today, too many Nevada families are being priced out of the communities they call home.
As your Democratic candidate for Nevada Assembly District 40, I will fight to make housing more affordable for working families, seniors, veterans, and first-time homebuyers.
My housing priorities include:
Stop corporate investors from driving up housing costs by limiting the ability of large corporations and out-of-state investors to buy up residential properties, reducing opportunities for Nevada families to purchase a home.
Support local builders and local jobs by prioritizing incentives for Nevada-based construction companies that build workforce housing and create good-paying jobs for local workers.
Protect renters from excessive rent increases by supporting reasonable safeguards that help families remain in their homes while encouraging the construction of more affordable housing throughout our communities.
Expand affordable homeownership opportunities by supporting policies that help first-time homebuyers achieve the American Dream and build generational wealth.
Invest in community infrastructure so new housing developments include the roads, schools, utilities, and public safety services our growing communities need.
Every teacher, nurse, firefighter, construction worker, state employee, service worker, and young family deserves the opportunity to live in the community they serve.
I believe housing should be built for families—not treated as a financial commodity. Nevada's future depends on ensuring that hardworking people can afford to buy a home, raise their children, and retire with dignity.
Together, we can make housing more affordable, strengthen our neighborhoods, and keep the American Dream within reach for every Nevada family.
Education
Every Child Deserves the Opportunity to Succeed
A quality education is the foundation of a stronger Nevada. Every child deserves access to an education that meets their individual needs, prepares them for success, and gives them the opportunity to reach their full potential.
As your Democratic candidate for Nevada Assembly District 40, I believe parents should be active partners in their children's education and that every student deserves the opportunity to learn in an environment where they can thrive.
My education priorities include:
Support educational choice by giving families access to the educational setting that best meets their child's needs, whether that is public school, charter school, private school, or homeschooling.
Empower parents by exploring ways to provide greater flexibility in education funding so families have more options to make the best educational decisions for their children.
Strengthen public education by investing in teachers, modern classrooms, career and technical education, and the resources schools need to help every student succeed.
Expand opportunities for bilingual learners by increasing support for bilingual teachers and educational resources in schools serving Nevada's growing Hispanic community, including Empire Elementary, Mark Twain Elementary, and Eagle Valley Middle School.
Support charter school access by helping address transportation barriers so families who choose charter schools have a fair opportunity to get their children to school safely.
Prepare students for tomorrow's workforce by expanding career and technical education, apprenticeships, dual-credit programs, and partnerships with Nevada businesses, trade unions, and community colleges.
Education is not one-size-fits-all. Every child learns differently, and every family should have meaningful educational opportunities that prepare students for college, careers, military service, or skilled trades.
As your representative, I will work to ensure that every education dollar is spent wisely, every classroom has the resources to succeed, and every student has the opportunity to build a brighter future.
When we invest in our children, we invest in Nevada's future. Together, we can build an education system that puts students, parents, and teachers first.
